Personal

A previous resident of McCutchenville and Tiffin, I now live in Findlay, Ohio, with my wife Courtney, daughter Lola, and son Clark.  Living in McCutchenville, I attended Mohawk Local Schools through graduation and went off to Ohio University for my Bachelors in Business Administration.  Courtney is originally from the East side of Cleveland, but has adapted well to life in Findlay, and she now champions our town to her friends.  We met while attending school at Ohio University.  Go Bobcats!  Courtney also enjoys her career very much and taught kindergarten at Jacobs Elementary in Findlay for 7 years.  From what her students and parents tell me she is an amazing teacher.  She always has the best stories about her students and the sometimes cute and hilarious things they say or do. Courtney is currently spending some time off work to concentrate on dealing with some health issues that have arisen from treatment that occurred when she battled through cancer in 2003.  We know with proper care, time and a little help from God she will get better.

Courtney and I also feel lucky to have such a nice place to call home, especially for our children.  We also love our church community, which is the St. Michael's parish of the Catholic Church.  Our daughter goes to school at St. Michael's too. I enjoy working in a community that is overwhelmingly upbeat and full of positive thinking people.  It is also nice to be in a larger community that still operates very much like a small town where people are friendly and inviting. We also have a nice young professional environment in Findlay that is made more accessible and connected by the Findlay Young Professionals organization.

As for hobbies, we are like most parents with young kids in that a high percentage of what we do involves spending quality time with our children.  Our children are the light of our lives and it makes it hard not to have an ear to ear smile even after a particularly long day.  With the kids, Courtney and I enjoy going to the pool, barbequing, playing cornhole, playing various board games and Wii with our friends and neighbors and playing Scrabble versus each other.  We also enjoy camping and spending time outside walking and hiking.  At least once a year we make the typical Ohioan journey south to a beach, our favorite being Hilton Head Island, SC.  We are both big Cleveland Indians and Browns fans and know that next year is our year (every year)!

Besides giving back to our church, our favorite charities are Rotary International and Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.  Rotary International focuses on the elimination of Polio and raising the standard of living for people around the globe.  Alex's Lemonade Stand is a phenomenal non-profit that primarily funds children's cancer research.  In our 2015 Race for Research Campaign, Northwestern Mutual offices nationwide raised $500,000 in 49 days, funding 10,000 research hours.  In addition to these charities, I also make an effort to support my client's charitable projects as well.
